Hey everyone, I've got some exciting news!! I am deeply honored to announce that as of yesterday (Monday) morning, I am the new New York Times chess columnist!! During this first week, the column will consist of a new puzzle every day, freely accessible to everyone without a subscription. The NYT and I collaborated to develop a fully interactive interface specifically for the column, which allows you to input moves and receive detailed feedback as you solve each puzzle. I would be very grateful if you could check out the column. It is still in a trial phase, and the more hype we generate, the greater the chance that the chess column will become a permanent fixture. The first puzzle ("You Versus Frumkin), as well as every subsequent puzzle, can be found at this link:
The second puzzle will be out Tuesday morning. Once again, the first week is entirely free to everyone, subscriber or not, after which the pace slows down to one puzzle a week. I hope you enjoy the puzzles!! Please note that a few minor kinks in the interface are still being worked out, but I'm satisfied with the final product and I've got my fingers crossed :) Thanks again for being such an incredible, supportive, and wholesome community.
