Works cannot be mixed with salvation at all in any way to be saved, stay saved or prove your saved because it cancels out grace.

After we are already saved forever we should do good works.
Acts 26:20 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Titus 3:8 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.
Ephesians 2:10 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Works are how we show our faith to the world and glorify God.
Matthew 5:16 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Philippians 2:12-15 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
James 2:18 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

We should do good works because we will all give an account one day not for salvation because Jesus Christ did that work but for reward and we will stand face to face with our Maker where we will be judged not for salvation but for reward and praise be to God that even if we suffer loss of reward we are still saved because of Jesus Christ finished work on the cross.
1 Corinthians 3:13-15 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Don’t grow weary in well doing family in Christ and keep on running the race and let us serve the Lord and do good works for Him because He loved us when we loved Him not. God saved us when we didn’t deserve it.
1 John 4:10 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Eternally saved through Christ
