Eternally saved through Christ

Works don’t save us.

Romans 4:5
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Works dont keep us saved.

1 Peter 1:5
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Works dont prove were saved as our faith proves were saved.

1 John 5:9-10
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:

1 John 5:13
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Works cannot be mixed with salvation at all in any way to be saved, stay saved or prove your saved because it cancels out grace.

Romans 11:6
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

After we are already saved forever we should do good works.

Acts 26:20
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Titus 3:8
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Works are how we show our faith to the world and glorify God.

Matthew 5:16
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Philippians 2:12-15
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

James 2:18
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Works mature our faith.

James 2:22
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

We should do good works because we will all give an account one day not for salvation because Jesus Christ did that work but for reward and we will stand face to face with our Maker where we will be judged not for salvation but for reward and praise be to God that even if we suffer loss of reward we are still saved because of Jesus Christ finished work on the cross.

1 Corinthians 3:13-15
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Don’t grow weary in well doing family in Christ and keep on running the race and let us serve the Lord and do good works for Him because He loved us when we loved Him not.
God saved us when we didn’t deserve it.

1 John 4:10
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

we have to build our strength and sanity in our relationship to Christ. He is our everything we need to live off the word and absorb ourselves in bible doctrine daily, if we dont we are missing the oppritunity with fellowship with our maker. The Lord wants to be close to us and even be our friend. by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast! however! God desires us to draw to him. the scripture says if we draw nigh unto God he will draw nigh unto us, i think its in Zachariah. Anyway take ur relationship with the Lord seriously guys dont rest on ur laurels.

Why is it that the people who rail and gnash their teeth the most when someone preaches the Gospel are self professing Christians? Not atheists, not the other religions of the world, but self professing Christians. Why is it that they always accuse? Why do they hate the Gospel so much? To me the greatest thing preventing people from getting saved is self righteous hypocrisy and pride...

All of the verses that you stated are describing the mature, perfect son of GOD, that obey His commandments and has ceased from sin. Thank you GOD, and our Lord Jesus Christ

Hi brother. Hope you are well. Was just wondering your thoughts on mid acts dispensationalism. I have found it to be enlightening on a few issues. The understanding that it is Romans through Philemon that are written to the body of Christ also the Four Gospels plus Hebrews through Revelation are written to the little flock, not written to us as we are the mystery that wasn’t revealed from the beginning. We aren’t as I understand even mentioned as prophecy and at the the stoning of Stephen when Jesus was stood up he was ready to make war but the intervention of this age of grace with Saul’s conversion changed everything. Just wondered what you thought and hope you are well brother.

@follow_the_way

Whenever someone says works, don't save us. Just ask what they mean by "works."

@daniaEternalLifeisForever

Question What does it mean by we will give an account, for the works we do on Earth? Will Jesus Christ say why didn’t you do this and that?

Acts 16:20 defeats your whole argument. First off, you not only have to do good works but you are ORDAINED to do good works. What you think about works is that this some how earns you salvation, but no it is a labor in love. That's right LABOR in love. Without good works you are not conformed to the image of God. All you want to do is be lenient on sin. If you don't have to do good works like your father Abraham, who is the father of us all, then you can sin and this will in no way dishonor God when you wilfully sin. What good works do is perfect the faithful. By becoming the workmanship to the building of the kingdom. Your good works glorify your Father in Heaven. Without good works how can you love your brother, pray for those who spitefully use you? They are evidence of your faith, just as 16:20 says, they are meet, they are fit for repentance. The reason for this is so that you can be free to disobey God and make yourself feel better about it.

Faith to disobey Jesus? Or faith to obey the Lord Jesus?

You conveniently piece mealed James 2 because if you quote it at length parts of your theology crumble. “14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. “20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[d]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[e] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”
