I am speaking for myself and on behalf of all of the artists out there. This has become a problem for fellow artists. Without our consent or knowledge, there is a handful of those who have been stealing our art and posting them on different media sites. My art was stolen and uploaded to another social media site without my knowledge or consent.
This hurt us deeply and impacted us negatively. There was a lot of patience, effort, and time being put into these art pieces, and we artists gladly share them to show our art. This is an act of stealing, a crime that is being committed, and it is not okay. It is never okay.
It is never okay to steal others' work without asking their permission, or fully crediting them. This is a form of plagiarism and could lead to harsh consequences. Even if the artwork is being posted for others to like, it is still an act of stealing.
It is also never okay to edit the artwork or crop out the artist's watermark/signature on the art that they made. This is a form of vandalism. That artwork is not yours/theirs and you/they have no right to claim that it belongs to you/them.
This applies the same thing when copying another's artwork. Copying the artwork also means stealing in any form.
Another thing is when the artist asks you to take the post down because you/they uploaded it to another site, please take it down. Making up excuses will only make the problem worse. You/they cannot escape from the actions that are being made. The artist made worked very hard, and put their pride in the artwork that they made, and now it is being stolen and used for idiotic, and unreasonable reasons.
If you see anyone that steals your art/any other artist's art, don't be afraid to address it to them to take it down because it belongs to you/them!
And report as well. Even if the "thief" is stubborn, they need to learn and see their mistake.
Please spread this awareness to everyone, for this is becoming a major issue, and creating anxiety with discomfort for those who fear posting up their art and will be stolen by the audience out there.
