“A portrait of feelings that flows from the memories of past towards hopeful future through the healing touch of nature..”
In 2019 or 2020, I stumbled upon lyrical statuses from my friend and lyricist Kartik Kathar and would often screenshot them. After gathering over 5-6 pieces, I approached him with the idea of composing a tune using these lyrics in an orderly manner. The vision was to create a beautiful Ghazal song, 'Kabhi Mehfil Mein Aap bhi Ayie.'
I started working on the tune, beginning with the first para, and completed it over a year, working sporadically as inspiration struck. Some parts remained untuned, but Kartik and I used them as shayris. As my debut Hindi song in the semi-classical Ghazal genre, this project presented unique challenges. I learned some Hindi and sought guidance from friends Geeta, Suman, and RP Sir.
Special thanks to friends Rubul ,Mintu ,Bikash for their constant support, and to Yankee, Gauri, and Manshi for being part of the studio journey. I'm grateful for talented collaborators like Neetu Pathak (music arrangements), Master Tarun Kalita (Sarod), and Raja Baruah (tabla and percussion). The song's release in 2021 brought immense joy, and I'm thrilled that people have loved it.
