I think I’ve told you guys this before, but the first (and truthfully the only) time I’ve been to a ballet performance was to ‘The Nutcracker’ in 2014. Which character role would suit me the best; Clara or the Sugar Plum Fairy?
Clara Stahlbaum is considered the main character, as she is the one that receives the nutcracker for Christmas, but the Sugar Plum Fairy actually has a bigger dancing role than Clara. The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy apparently lasts about 10 to 15 minutes, and her dancing role is a lot bigger, as well as much more iconic, considering there are a lot of pointe (standing on your toes) positions during the scene, as well as a lot more graceful movements.
I’ve always had a secret interest, almost like a guilty pleasure, for ballet. There are a couple notable things I remembered from the performance when I saw it in 2014 that basically still stand out to me today. I might make another video with me in it just to explain a few things with the ballet, just for the Christmas vibe. So expect that video later this week.
