V101 SPACE

Over the last year, I’ve watched something quietly change on YouTube. The wonders of the universe, once told through passion, curiosity, and the human voice, have become buried under an avalanche of AI-generated slop.

Don't get me wrong, I think AI is a brilliant tool when used correctly (The image below is AI-generated, for example). But it’s hard to compete with a machine that can churn out a new video every day of the week. Channels that use it across the entire creation process, script writing, voice over, video generation, editing, thumbnails, etc

And the truth is… V101 has seen the affects. From my income taking a big hit to me questioning my creative choices, at times, it’s made me wonder if I can keep doing what I love: telling the real stories of the Universe. But then I read your comments.

I see your names appear, your words under every video, and your support, from my amazing channel members who donate $2+ a month to help keep the channel financially ticking over, to those who comment, like, and share. It reminds me that this channel still matters, even in a sea of AI sludge.

So thank you, and please keep doing what you’re doing. Seek out human-made stories. Support the people who pour themselves into their work, who invest countless hours into creating something to inspire, entertain, or move you.

Don’t settle for the clickbait content made purely to trick you. There’s no fact-checking, no passion, just code designed to capture your attention and make money with minimum effort.

YouTube is under attack. Original, human-made content is under attack.
And I believe the cosmos deserves to be told through real eyes, real voices, and real wonder.

Thank you, truly, for keeping V101 alive.

The key is sussing out by the thumbnail. If in doubt, leave out. If it looks like a trick, don’t click. Quality over quantity. Stick with the known channels and you won’t contribute to the race to the bottom.

Exploration is a very human yearning. And learning about our universe is a timely and very vital facet of that yearning. I cannot imagine learning our place in the cosmos from a computer. When we human share knowledge with each other our understanding expands exponentially. A computer program cannot inspire. Keep going. I'm proud of you. Hugs to you and Rolo from Kansas.
