❌💊 Melatonin & other sleep supplements don’t cure your sleep issues.

And based off the MANY clients I’ve helped through my Sleep Success program (and my own personal experience), sleep medications can actually keep you stuck in the insomnia cycle much longer than necessary.

Here’s why:

Sleeping pills are only addressing the symptom of not sleeping.

But sleep is usually not the real problem‼️

Especially if your thoughts are keeping you awake, have sleep anxiety, or if you suddenly feel alert (or “wired but tired”) at bedtime ...

🧠 This is an indication that your brain is perceiving nighttime as a time to KEEP you awake.

Which is why sleeping pills or melatonin don’t even work for so many people (or you end up building up a tolerance to them, so they stop working eventually).

Melatonin is often touted as “natural” but people are taking doses that are WAY too high which can have a harmful effect and actually suppress your brain’s natural production of the hormone - screwing up your ability to sleep even more in the long run.

This is why it’s essential to get to the root cause of why your brain is perceiving nighttime as a time to keep you awake, instead of trying a bunch of sleep-aids which only (at best) mask the symptoms.

The brain is highly adaptable! 🧠

And just as it learned that nighttime was a time to keep you awake, it can UNlearn this behavior and instead learn that nighttime is time for SLEEP! 😴
