Caster Semenya is a woman with XY chromosomes. Is she a man because of her chromosomes? Or a woman because of her organs and gender identity? Most of the time, sex (male/female/intersex) and gender (man/woman/nonbinary) align, but in around 1% of cases they don't (and that's called being transgender). Fact is, gender and sex is more complicated than a binary distinction between one gender and another.
