We wake up to sad news, one of the originators of our culture has left us. Farewell Goa Gil ! Born Gilbert Levey in California in 1951, Gil was part of the San Francisco hippy movement in the late 60 till he left for India in 1969. He arrived in Goa and was part of the full moon parties as a bass player in the Gilbert Garcia band. With the arrival of electronic music he became a DJ playing what later shaped up to be Goa Trance & Psytrance. His vision was to redefine the ancient tribal ritual for the 21st Century, in using the party situation as a medium to uplift the consciousness of the participants through the Trance Dance Experience. He was a true visionary that always walked his own path, he will be missed.
