You tube this is not cyber bullying. Your standards only apply when it is personal harm being done and this video is entertainment at a public figure who because of their political position is open to parody , comedy and sarcasm etc…if this is your standard I demand all of video of Trump be removed due to his lying and name calling of others his bullying of Gavin Newsom for example and Trumps total disregard for others feelings as his comments are intended to inflict harm and pain upon his perceived enemies. You can sign up for free, or toss me a few bucks a month. Totally your call. I mention this because, once again, I’m not sure how long I’ll actually survive here on YouTube. It seems the powers that be are sharpening their banhammers and pointing them squarely in my direction.
Okay, rant time. Strap in.
First off, the headline here is a tad misleading; YouTube doesn’t actually tell you who reported your video. So, let’s skip straight to the facts:
* At 6:30 AM this morning, YouTube removed my video “Trump and Putin’s BIG Alaska Adventure.”
* The stated reason: “cyberbullying.”
* The video had been up since Friday and was closing in on 200,000 views, my best launch ever.
* It had racked up 10,000+ likes and over 1,000 comments, with the feedback being 99% positive. (The other 1% was mostly people mad I didn’t give Putin a better swimsuit.)
* The flagged scene? Trump and Putin riding jet skis. Their watercraft bump into each other, there’s a quick *poof* explosion, and suddenly—no more Trump, no more Putin, no more jet skis. Just a calm ocean.
Now, I’ve built my reputation on cartoonish parody sequences where certain public figures sometimes meet a wacky, implied demise. ACME anvils, banana peels of destiny, jet ski kabooms—you name it. So for YouTube to single THIS one out as cyberbullying? Troubling. Like, *red flag for anyone who believes in free speech* troubling.
So, how did this happen? Why did this happen? A couple possibilities:
* Maybe someone from the Trump camp, the Putin camp, or the joint “World’s Saddest Bromance” PR team complained.
* Or maybe an organized group mass-reported the video under the rule about “reveling in or mocking the death or serious injury of an identifiable individual.”
Here’s the kicker: that doesn’t even apply.
There’s no blood, no bodies, no funeral dirge swelling in the background. Just two men and their jet skis vanished. Who’s to say they didn’t simply get submerged, share a romantic underwater smooch, and swim to safety? Who’s to say??
I have appealed the decision—but let’s be honest, YouTube doesn’t allow for an actual rebuttal. They just re-watch the clip, shrug, and say, “Yep, still looks like a problem.”
So here’s where we’re at:
* I’ll be making some edits to the video and reposting it shortly.
* It won’t get the same rocket-boost momentum as the original (RIP, sweet algorithm juice).
* But it’s important to me to keep it online as a record of what happened, both the parody itself and the censorship around it.
