Age-restricted and demonetized again! The last video was well on the path to 1,000,000 or more views, but now it is dead in the algorithm.
Unfortunately, Russian trolls will mass report videos that are damaging to the Kremlin's position. There is nothing in the video that violates community guidelines, but YouTube's automatic censoring systems don't seem to be believing that, and I can't seem to get a real human to review.
I've submitted an appeal, but to keep the entire channel from being flagged, unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to repost it again. We will see what happens.
It's not just about earning money on the video. Age-restrictions ruin the reach of videos, as users need to be logged in to view the video, and the majority of our viewers don't log in (they watch from televisions, etc.). What's also frustrating is that YouTube will continue to run ads on demonetized videos, and therefore collect revenue - they just don't share that revenue with the creator. It is used as a discouragement mechanism to force creators to get in line.
