The main issue with politics of the day is that everyone takes it personally. Everyone wants to feel like they're right. I get it, nobody likes being wrong, it's an uncomfortable feeling. The problem is that a lot of people perceive it as an unacceptable feeling. Anyone disagreeing with you on an issue suddenly becomes a personal attack.
Sadly, with how mental illnesses, such as narcissism, are out of control in this culture, I don't see this changing any time soon.
