The scariest part is when someone look at the clock and realize it will spent three hours studying retention graphs that didn’t even change from last week. Creator life is both inspiring and mildly terrifying.

I swear I come up with ideas for vids 10 seconds before I go to bed.

Starts with "hey, let me just check in on that short I posted earlier" on Friday night before bed. Turns into deep diving research on the troubled teen industry in utah, filming my voice over, pulling b-roll, and editing. Only to realize it's 5am Monday and I go to work in an hour. 😂😂😂. Yeah, just ask me how my weekend was, haha

Checking the analytics every second 😮and trying to figure out why one video is doing better than others, gets me so worked up trying to figure out what my next review will be🤦🏾

Well, lately, I actually haven't been staying up 'til 3 AM on YouTube. I've been staying up until 4 AM watching horror movies.

I've been in an argument with the VidIQ AI for a few days now. It's not really an argument, but it keeps giving me data that's not quite right and I have to wrench it back to the matter at hand and it feels like an argument.

My "YouTube rabbit hole" is a weird habit. If my YouTube video didn't perform well (be it views, CTR or Average Watch Duration). I either mentally beat myself up or depress myself to kingdom come.

Fortunately, I have a wife and we discussed very often about my business and how to balance life / work. So I don't have 3 am thing anymore. But I had a hateful habits to spiral about all the things I have to do and learn until we pour together a system. Not just a strategic system (which is quite hard to do while learning) but a schedule, like every first week of the month, Monday from 4.30pm to 6pm I do produce content for my next videos. Etc.. etc.. and it is LIFE CHANGING 🎉

It always starts with “just checking one thing in Studio…” and suddenly it’s 3am and I’m planning a Shorts series, watching retention curves, and googling camera lighting setups 🤡
What’s your late-night YouTube rabbit hole lately? 👇
