We got married in 2018 on a beautiful beach in Thailand. We did a Tantric ritual with friends and family. It was a day full of love, beauty, and unforgettable memories.
We married on the exact same day we met, one year later. Andrew proposed just three weeks after we first met. Never in my life did I imagine I would get married, but when it happened, I said yes. And today, we are still together.
We married under the promise of love and respect for each other, and every year we renew those vows. We believe that wedding vows are something that need to be renewed, because we change, our needs change, and so our union must also evolve and be refreshed.
Today, after almost eight years together, we are different. Our love for each other has changed, it has grown, matured, and deepened. The enthusiasm and fire of the beginning has transformed into something more stable, safe, and comforting. It feels like home.
This journey has brought us plenty of beautiful memories, but also challenging moments. Love in relationship is something that needs to be cultivated every day. We have to choose each other, every day. We need to be willing to accept that nothing is forever, not even love, unless we nurture it with care.
The most important thing, I believe, is the intention behind our actions: the intention to choose each other even when things are complicated, the willingness to accept each otherโs changes and evolving needs, the courage to communicate openly and show up fully, without masks.
My suggestion?
Love and respect yourself in the same way you would love and respect your partner.
What is your experience? Do you believe in the eternal Love? With love, Clelia ๐
