The one managing this library turned out to be a wizard. At first, she said something to me, but it was in a language I didn’t understand at all.
Just then, a fox and a girl—who had been reading in a tree nearby—came over and helped translate. So this is what it feels like to have someone translating for you… interesting.
Apparently, the wizard liked my reports I wrote and said I could store it here. Seems like she found the outside perspective refreshing.
By the way, this librarian… feels kind of familiar somehow. Anyway, she and the red hair girl were super kind, so no complaints there… other than the fox was kind of mean to me.
I also got some extra info from the two. Turns out this library is held together by “living magic,” and the trees themselves form the building. But the one small tree in the center has no leaves—it looks like it’s about to die. Why she placed that particular tree in the middle… no clue yet.
The Fox And The Girl
図書館を管理しているのは、魔法使いでした。
最初、何か話しかけられたんですが、知らない言語だったのでさっぱりわからず。
ちょうどそのとき、そばの木の中で本を読んでいた狐と少女がやってきて、通訳してくれました。翻訳って、こういう感じなんだなぁと実感。
どうやら、私が書いたレポートを気に入ってくれたようで、「ここに保管していい」とのこと。外からの視点が面白いらしいです。
それにしても、あの図書館員……どこかで見たことあるような？
まぁ、それはさておき、狐がなんだか意地悪だったのを除いては、すごく親切な魔法使いと赤髪の少女でした。
あと、面白い話も聞きました。この図書館、建物自体が“生きた魔法”でできていて、木々がそのまま構造になっているそうです。
でも、真ん中にある小さな木だけが葉もなくて、今にも枯れそうな様子。
なぜそんな木が中心にあるのかは、まだよくわかりません。
