I’m in my 51st year in tractor trailers 11 of which were partial over the road going as far west from North Eastern Pa. to Houston Texas to Northern Maine hauling everything and anything that could be put in a dry van. Never hauled refrigerated foods or flatbed freight but did haul heavy equipment and pulled coal buckets. Did over 25 years yanking gas tankers hauling everything that you can haul in one of them and a short stint hauling liquid asphalt . Now I’m semi retired doing no touch p&d for a really good man from 1 to 2 days a week to a full 5 days. I guess I must like what I’m doing cause when everyone asks me when I’m going to stop I tell them when I can’t climb up inside a truck Maybe then I’ll have to find a hotshot trucker to drive for

When I was a kid, I spent every school break cross country trucking with my family. I've been to 46 states. My mom is a great Truck Driver.

Retired now after 36 years as an HGV driver it was an hard life in those days 70s 80s 90s but if I had the chance, I would do it all again couldn’t ever see myself working in a factory or office that open road for me was great .

This month marks my first year as a truck driver, I hauled tanker containers around Western Europe but I'm switching jobs now. Gonna start hauling gasoline and diesel starting next month with a 5 chamber trailer, home every night and I'll have reliable equipment for roughly the same pay. Maybe I'll go back to international hauling in the future but I also have a girlfriend now so I honestly doubt it.

I've spent a lot of time in Australia. If I could turn the clock back a good few years I could/would/should move out there to carry out my driving career. Not so much seeing new places but the open road, peace and quiet would've been right up my highway😁

I could never drive a truck myself, but I always thought there was something really cool about them. Where I work, I used to see HUNDREDS of them every day and would think to myself how cool it would be to actually be a trucker. While I still think so, it also has a lot of things to it that I could never deal with.
