I was never afraid of him as a child despite believing in him, quite the opposite actually. I was oddly comforted by the idea of having some form of company, as I didn’t really have any due to my harsh and abusive household. People also thought of me as strange due to my struggles at communication because of such environments. People often thought of me as weird, uncomfortable, or creepy, mainly because of such too and would spread rumors and lies about me as a person. One of my biggest problems was staring at people from a distance, trying to figure out a conversation that wouldn't create trouble or harm for myself. I related to Herobrine a lot as a child. So the thought of a ghost, misunderstood or not, keeping me company in one of my only places of escape at the time gave me comfort. Like a mute friend that reassures you with just a simple glance. I wanted to be friends with Herobrine when I was kid. He just gave me this strange sense of safety rather than danger. While other minecraft creepypastas like Null or 303 made me uneasy, Herobrine was that one entity I couldn't help but smile every time I saw him. Like seeing an old friend reassuring that everything is going to be okay, you'll live on knowing who are, even if others don't. I'm pretty sure I’m the only guy who's felt these types of sort of platonic feelings around the character, but I can't really find any other means to describe it. Simply put, while others feared him, I felt safe.

I remember back in 2014 when my older brother cooperated with my cousin to scare me into thinking he's real. I remember I cried during the process, they had to reveal themselves due to how hard their acting was. Good days that will never come back, nowadays i don't even see my older brother anymore, he moved out of country to find his love. I miss him honestly

I saw him in beta 1.0, when i was exiting from a cave there was a zombie behind me, i killed him and when i was going to my goofy ahh house i saw herobrine near a tree. Then i closed minecraft and go play roblox

Yes, even now I think he is in the game especially considering that Mojang and Microsoft both doesn't allows any anyone to publish anything centering herobrine in the market place but allows other things such as Null and entity303. Not just that but their drama around the "Removed herobrian" in every Minecraft update then suddenly stop adding it then suddenly start adding it then suddenly stop adding it again. and other etc etc factors. I am not scared of it and I fact I was never scared of but it is just so cool.

when i was younger i would try to summon Herobrine, talk shit in chat to ragebait him and then hide in my base with a bow pointed at my door. i even made crosses out of cobblestones to different landmarks i found to protect the area from him. XD
