Looking at many OSR systems and learning the ins and outs of most of them, I've come to the conclusion (particularly after something Matt Finch said) that all the editions are just White Box with different homebrew rules added on top. I feel confident in saying D&D across generations is the same Game at the core.

After nearly five decades of existence, can you consider 5E D&D to be the same game as the White Box rules? BECMI? AD&D?
