Marvin Gaye's first Top Ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 was "Pride & Joy", which peaked at #10 in 1963. He also had a string of successful R&B hits, but "Pride & Joy" was his first crossover success into the pop charts, according to Classic Motown.

Of course Pride & Joy...."First Top Ten " folks 🤣😂🤦🏿‍♂️ key word !! For the youngins who did know, Marvin was Gold from the start! Tammi Terrell and Kim Weston revealed his magic at collaboration! He wrote many songs for Motown and his self but as a songwriter for me his defining moment was when Smokey left the Miracles and the first album The Miracles released in 1972 called " Renaissance" he produced that album with Smokey as executive producer!! A song called "I Love You Secretly" 🔥
