Hey guys, just wanted to do a quick channel update. I got kicked out of the YouTube Partner program, and was denied on each appeal. This means 0 videos are now monetized, and this in turn means I have no drive to produce here anymore.
I have a glint of hope I could perhaps keep uploading new videos here and eventually get back into the program, but honestly, I am unsure if this could be the case since YT could just flag me for "Reused Content" despite it being meme edits. My top video has effectively become an albatross around my neck for any reason to keep working on this channel. I cannot do what I love for free, and therefore this channel is a nonstarter if it's going to be like this. I'd hate to have to unlist, private, or at worst delete videos just to be given access to ads again (ads have always played on my claimed videos anyway, never made a dime from those).
At the same time it's also a pain in the ass to have to start completely over. This channel has been a passion for over a decade that I was thankful for being able to start working on again. I'd been denied many times to the YPP, and once I was accepted, you can see the push to make more content I did. Only slowing down once I had to work on getting a job, with proceeds I hoped to buy equipment for videos. At this point that seems like a waste of time here.
I'm not going to leave a poll as it might sway people to just tap on whichever option is first, so I ask this here for people to comment, would you think it's best to keep uploading non-meme content here, or just start over? I planned on releasing meme shorts and long form videos over time here like commentary, but as it currently stands there's no way for me to know how many videos I'd have to make before YT would let me back in, if they even would, they might make me still delete some yet. I could simply make another channel with the same name and start anew, archiving this one, but really I don't know.
Funny enough, I had this same rumination for months before on my third try being accepted into the YPP, which killed any thought of starting over. This random fall from grace has once again put this intrusive thought in full gear, and I'm frankly done with it. Leave your opinion below on if this should become the Starchive, and I make generic face in front of camera content YouTube likes to allow somewhere else, or I persevere here lazily since what does it matter anyways? I think about making channels that fit into a niche and trying again, but I also hoped to just move on to another genre on my main channel like I did in the past. This channels been gaming videos, memes, and commentary, and I wanted to go back to commentary, but who knows if I'll just get rejected for "reused content" once again despite 100 videos of only my face.
