Surely those Dev Kits are company property and this is no different from requiring a work laptop returned? I hate how the redundancies within the French team have been handled, but this strikes me as the least of Starbreeze’s failings on this front.

I separated myself from Payday and Starbreeze after U237 for a VERY good reason; I saw the writing on the wall, and I have to say, they haven't changed my mind about them since. They're still the same manipulative, self-serving and toxic studio that they were in 2014....and in...2024...and in 2025. M.U.G Team is the closest I dare get, and that's because they are doing gods work for a game that didn't deserve to be messed around with.

i love payday, but the amount of incompetence and lack of accountability, responsibility (and shame at this point) starbreeze higher ups have is beyond me. i just wanted the game to succeed, but it never will in the way it could have if these are the people pulling the strings

Even more reason to look forward to Den of Wolves. Starbreeze died when they moved on from PD2. PD3 and the team behind it has been nothing more than a load of shit from the get go.

Starbreeze is gonna send a dude named Dan to the home addresses of former French remote employees (the ones Mats Juhl illegally terminated a few months ago).
He's gonna ask them to sign a contract and then demand they hand over console development kits which belong to Sony and Microsoft, and Starbreeze was never supposed to place in someone's personal residence in the first place. Dan is gonna be heading off on his Tour de France on July 9th and then leaving in an escape van to go on vacation immediately afterwards so he can't be reached for the consequences.
Starbreeze fucked these French employees over, and is now trying to drag them into further legal headaches by making them sign paperwork and improperly hand over console development kits Starbreeze does not have any claim to. Dan sent mass emails to their personal addresses about it and is gonna be knocking on their doors in a little over a week's time.
Fuck Starbreeze. I'm too exhausted to make this an article before Dan's funny little trip, but jesus fucking christ. (EDIT: Dan's called the plan off after getting made fun of for it too much. Wonder if he'll still go on vacation?)
