As a brit I am so sorry. This is because of our bullshit laws thinking that they're "protecting children" instead of dealing with the ACTUAL problem (neglectful parents). This bill is so stupid,and this youtube update even worse. I am an 18 year old autistic person who watches things like ninjago, pokemon, paw patrol, kid-friendly mcyt (dantdm, ldshadowlady, e.t.c.) This bill is extremely ageist and ableist as it forces people to conform to a certain type of video depending on their age or they'll get punished for it. I really hope that youtube gets its act together and realises how idiotic this update is.

Honestly, doing YouTube has been kind of my dream ever since I was a kid, and now there’s policy comes over and I’m scared of losing my dream. I honestly hope this plan works. Also, when we do this, do we sign out of our accounts and just don’t open YouTube anymore?

This channel is participating in the August 13th blackout boycott against the Online Safety Act. We will not be online in protest of the AI verification policy set forth by YouTube.
This new policy will detect whatever content you watch, and if the AI determines you are under the age of 18, then YouTube will lock your account, unless you can show your government ID (usually a driver's license), a selfie, or your credit card. They will also strip you of personalized ads, restrict certain channels, and much more.
This policy is a huge safety hazard and goes against our American rights. We encourage everyone to participate in the boycott if possible.
