"Individuals who want their diagnosis private instead of their insurance having 24/7 open book access can pay for their medical bills themselves, even if they pay for health insurance." Wow. I cannot believe the world has gotten to this.

You've got years of silently passed laws to combat, but its a good fight. And keeping it focused on privacy is wise. Thank you.

My thoughts are with all my sisters and brothers in the US, I love you, support you and I am behind you during these trying times. Wishing you all the best and if you can please do flee.

I'm just worried that RFK Jr. may soon start doing more than just "tracking" folks like us under the spectrum. Rn I don't even feel safe to be in my own home anymore.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a diagnosis the last two years. Now I'm debating how to best approach my health issues with my doctors in a way that never brings up the obvious.

I was diagnosed in another state and am on my parents’ insurance. Would it be different for me?

So, what about all of the services that I've already used my health insurance for?

Mom on the Spectrum
In light of RFK Jr.'s Autism Study, Autistic Patients Should Know:
1. Insurance carriers who receive claims for services can request records and can see some, if not all diagnostic codes for the patient.
2. Individuals can call their insurance carriers to ask how their privacy is protected in the event of government request for protected health information.
3. If needed, individuals who do not want diagnostic information available to their insurance carriers can elect to engage in private pay services.
I'm working hard to keep our community up-to-date with important information. Here are two videos I've made recently that might be helpful:
What you need to know about the new autism data registry: https://youtu.be/ClQASyw0uAQ?si=hocxX...
The New Autism Study | A Disease Registry? Here's what we know: youtube.com/live/EroogZmB5Zk?si=-_-okVJjlilc8vGQ
I'm currently working my way through the Council of Councils meeting with more info about what this might entail. I will post more when I know more.
We're in this together. Deep breaths. Stay focused on what's important. Stim, spend time with your loved ones and on your special interests, drink water, rest.
