It MIGHT just be me, but I have a couple theories. Some are kind of crazy and controversial, some are just normal. Maybe I AM a bit delusional with some of these, and I just love plot-twists and angst, but I felt US getting kidnapped happen (though, it's a mafia story so its not like I'm a genius..) and I wanted to voice my theories for the first time! Esp since many of you do the same down here !! (I tried my hardest not to refer to the listener as a her, so if I did I apologize !) Theory One : It has been said before, in earlier episodes, that the man with the suitcase was going to be paid to kill barista or something along that. OBVIOUSLY if we're worth hundreds of ppl dying in that building, just to get rid of us, we're SOMEBODY important. Either Barista's family was involved in this kind of lifestyle, and when they had us they decided to change lives, OR we are connected to Calum in SOME way. At first, I thought it could've been Morgan too, but he IS the one sending people to kill us. So, unless he's batshit that he wants to kill his child, family member, whatever we could possibly be to him (blood related?), I don't think It's Morgan. What I TRULY theorize is this: We COULD BE Calum's child. Think about it, by the time episode 1 came out, he was already dead. It IS possible that we were sent to be killed so he wouldn't have an heir to take his place as leader of his mafia organization (whatever you wish to call it). And if there is no heir, then it is bound to crumple. I can't exactly remember, but I am 89% sure that Calum and Morgan weren't buddy buddy. I believe Calum, Morgan, and Warden are all collective enemies. And yes, Calum and Warden were going to make a truce. But what I MEAN is the three organizations are not one, they never were before Warden and Calum's agreement to merge. CALUM has been brought up subtly, sometimes not so subtly, but this has truly been itching at the back of my head. Theory Two : i think at some point, James & Barista will form a close relationship of sorts. The way he called us "kids/kiddos" obviously makes it known that he might not ONLY think of Elias as his nephew, as he mentioned him being the only thing he has left of Tara, he could think of him as a son too. Perhaps, once Barista gains the trust of The Wraiths, they will form that father-child relationship, I know Barista already has a father, but remember Warden said Barista left them to fend for themself so they wouldn't be a burden. Meaning they most likely haven't seen much of their family if it isn't through a phone call, or face-time. WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT............... Theory three : After this kidnapping, because it is quite obvious we are going to be saved eventually, Barista will change drastically. We already know their outlook on all of this, and James along with Warden have commented on it a few times. Mentioning how they do not fully comprehend what it means to live in this life, and they don't, sure having a constant target and seeing armed men tasked to protect you will give you an idea, but.. it's only been three months, they've been locked up since it started, they haven't seen an actual person die, or have to hold a gun and defend someone for Elias, or anything. As Warden said, they need to do more than try now. they are an important part to this, which I DO think was Saqu being sneaky and giving us a clue that they are more important to this than WE know. Anyways : Being kidnapped, and THINKING of being kidnapped are two different things. The fear of it and it actually happening are two different things. (Yes, I know Warden held them at gunpoint, I know.) I feel like once Elias and Barista escape, because i think they will try to and might succeeded before The Wraiths get there, they will be forced to either knock someone out or kill someone for Elias. MAYBE even hold a person at gunpoint, too. After this, they will have a full understanding of what it means to truly be involved in this world. I doubt they'll be tortured, because I don't think Saqu can post smth like that here, without it being taken down. It might be IMPLLIED that they SAW Elias being tortured, they might be held at gunpoint, threatened to give up information they do not HAVE. They might be more closed off, they might want to actually LEARN how to use a gun, and defend themselves, even if I think they can if they've been out of their parents house since they were old enough. ("No, not a gun range, no way.") SOMETHING. They might gain the trust of the Wraiths and Warden and James. But... They might become more closed off toward Elias. Traumatized by what they went through, after all, it's been heard or implied that they don't show themselves being vulnerable very often. Overall, in MY eyes, they're shown as a pretty tough character who had to fend for themselves so they wouldn't burden their parents, OH AND THE FUCKING TRAUMA WITH THE OLD MANAGER. They hold baggage that is probably about to unfold, and they might, even if only for a few episodes.. have a drastic character change. A bit of Elias and Barista angst because during that time, it's possible Elias will have found out we lied.

Oh god this is so sad because in reality nothing that he will do can make his gf happy ☹️ she is too caught up in insecurities and control. Like he is doing so much to make her happy and secure and it isn’t ever good enough 💔 been there This kind of reminds me of me and my best friend, we have been close for like 6 years now and “dated” twice but not really. I always worry that his gf won’t like me or feel weird about us hanging out because of that past so I always went out of my way to make her feel comfortable and not overstep. Ok so I love Saku and have a lot of respect for his crativeness and talent. I however, just want to voice my fears as someone who's been let down.. We all know that Saku said he loves ANGST and paths being assigned randomly isn't really promissing. I mean who assigns the randomly and how and when. For all we know, he can be in the mood to write the story as ANGST at the end and we's be lead to assume we chose the worst path. I feel like it would be better to put labels 'perfect' 'neutral' and 'worst' on the paths just to make it more even. And there still might be a good chance that we end up with ANGST but it would be a nice preparation at least instead of stressing about the secretive voting system. Again. This is just my opinion and my thoughts. I love the content Saku makes and his unique way of story-telling. I just feel like the CYOP aspects of this audio story aren't as open as they could be. But the time has come once more to decide again!
For clarification:
- The Gang Lord's Son is a CYOP (Choose Your Own Path) where you, the Listener, have a direct influence on an audio. Whenever a series requires a new part, a poll will be posted for you to choose how the story progresses.
- Every poll will move you closer to one ending, but you will be choosing a path.
