I liked the shorts! They nicely show off some clever features without taking too long to make or watch. Really excited about he larger video; weird specific details are the most interesting!

I think you've made better use of the shorts feature than most others I've seen, but I also hate the new interface for them. It could be a good middleground to make your own type of "shorts" videos, keeping a time restriction but allowing you to have control over how the content is presented.

Yeah, I really enjoyed your shorts; it's neat getting to learn something new in a small amount of time! The thumbnail situation sucks, but I hope you won't let that deter you from putting out a short every once in a while 🙏

I was just thinking it's been forever since you've posted a long video! Glad you have one that's nearing completion, really excited to see it. Honestly, whatever content you put out is enjoyable, the shorts, long form vids, and casual podcast style vids are all great in their own ways

I think the shorts were really interesting, but I enjoyed the reaaally deep dives of the previous videos more. I feel like the very clever narrative and your clear explanations of your videos really shine with the longer ones. But if there's gonna be more content in any case I approve!!

definitely would like to see a longer format one that could go into more detail of certain subjects. Or diving into multiple clever things in one specific game. I know shorts don't make much money, so longer ones seem like a good focus. Although I think your shorts will have more reach and are very enjoyable. Anyway looking forward to your stuff!

I actually love your shorts! They’re like little nuggets of info that I never would have guessed. But I agree that the interface is godawful and that’s beyond youtubers’ control. The worst thing is if I missed something or want to play over a part, I have to watch over the entire thing and I can’t even minimize the video which is annoying.

Yeah I really like the shorts you made!!! I already watched the most recent one you posted and it was interesting!!! It actually helped me with something I wanted to do for a shader for Eyes. It sucks youtube is just trying to mimic tiktok with the shorts thing... I would really like the ability to fast forward and rewind just like other videos. Not being able to select the thumbnail just adds to the stupidity.

Hey there!
While I've been working on my next big video (read on for progress on that), I've been putting out smaller YouTube Shorts, just as a way to keep myself in the creative loop. I liked the constraints that a minute of content gave me, it's a way to force myself to be concise and make something in a weekend, and not turn every little fact into a 25-minute odyssey.
But it seems YouTube Shorts has changed drastically since I started posting there? I can't even put a custom thumbnail on them anymore, so my most recent short went out to subscribers with a really stupid-looking picture. And I can't change it. So of course nobody clicked on it, lol. And even if you do, you get trapped in this godawful interface now. So I think I'm gonna stop making the shorts.
As for the bigger video, it's currently 40 minutes long, and I'm still unhappy with a few of the sections, so it's undergoing a few rewrites. But I can reveal it's a full-on video about a very specific, weird detail in Breath of the Wild.
