If it's by Brill, no one will be able to afford those books being published.

Any institution describing itself as "non-partisan" makes me think of things like "The Patriot Act" or "The Online Safety Bill." Just my cynical bone getting tickled. Like when something from a factory is described as "homemade."

get your money, my bro but this sounds like another sophisticated way to move funds to terrorist groups.

Make sure there are no hidden agendas buried within. You don't want to sign up for something the realise the main focus of the organisation seems to be Palestine.

Don’t waste your time with anything labeled ‘Islamic studies.’ These think tanks are traps — they’re not about truth, just control. Stay far away. Once you’re in, they’ll try to own your mind.

Wow, Peter Adamson is involved. This must be great!! I have listened to many of his podcasts. He's such a great lecturer and philosopher!

This sounds great! For some reason, I thought William Chittick had passed on. I would love to attend one of his lectures.

If you check out about us you will see it's mostly American based. How ironic that these ancient teachings are hijacked by pysuedo fake teachers of pearls of wisdom. Follow the money leads you back to the empire masquerading as pillars of truth

Great to see this, sadly islamic studies in the Muslim world are stuck in the past, don't get me wrong the old ways have their charm especially in Morocco Senegal Egypt Indonesia Pakistan Saudi Arabia Nigeria, but they need to modernise quickly or the new generation will desert them

Let's Talk Religion
Hey guys
I was contacted by the people behind a new educational institute focusing on Islamic thought called "Tokat Institute" that seems very interesting and with some truly great scholars involved. I thought you'd be interested. Here's their annoucement:
"We are delighted to announce the official launch of the Tokat Institute for Advanced Islamic Studies—a non-partisan academic institution dedicated to the rigorous and expansive study of the Islamic intellectual tradition. Guided by a team of internationally renowned scholars, the Institute embraces a holistic and integrative approach to Islamic studies, engaging deeply with philosophy, mysticism, rational theology, science, logic, art, and literature.
Among the Institute’s many exciting initiatives are its grants, dissertation awards, and academic prizes, as well as its live, synchronous courses taught by leading figures in the field, including Professors Seyyed Hossein Nasr, William Chittick, and Oludamini Ogunnaike.
The Institute will also inaugurate its Fall Online Lecture Series, featuring talks by prominent scholars such as Professors Asma Afsaruddin, Peter Adamson, and Carl Ernst.
We are also proud to announce three major scholarly publishing projects:
❖ Islamic Intellectual Traditions, a Diamond Open Access journal published in partnership with Brill.
❖ Studies in Islamic Thought, a Diamond Open Access book series published in partnership with Brill.
❖ The Tokat Library of Islamic Classics, a translation series published in partnership with Fons Vitae.
