I’m gonna have to rewrite the video script now because it’s a lot worse than i thought

Internet: “we discovered life” Kyplanet893: “nothing ever happens”

Madhusuhan’s video on the university of Cambridge channel did not sugarcoat it. “Did we find life? NO.” “Did we find atmospheric disilfides? Yes” We just gotta keep studying it to be sure of what we found. That’s all

Unfathomably based for actually caring about preventing misinfo about outer space. You're infinitely better than those AI slop channels.

A newcomer to your channel might say you're a pessimist, but the truth is your frustration is extremely warranted The first thing I see when opening Google on my phone is a string of suggested articles full of outer space misinfo lol

At this point I’m certain there’s a whole skeptic community whose job it is to make sure we never discover life or aliens. On purpose, it seems.

Am I the only one who didn't misunderstand what they said? I can remember they simply said they found what would be considered biosignatures because they're produced by terrestrial life, that doesn't mean they're certain they found life because there could be other natural processes that generate these chemicals. And that will take a while longer to determine, with not a high certainty. Maybe if they found cycles of methane and oxygen it could give a more serious confirmation, overall the more pieces you have the better the outlook is.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes something similar to the J1407b myth.

At this point I refuse to get hype about exoplanet announcements until you post a video

James Webb has just discovered the atmosphere of K2-18b not chemical signs of life.

Honestly, I didn't even read the stories, I just saw the headlines and assumed it was bad science journalism. It's ALWAYS bad science journalism.

the thumbnail should be stylized exactly like a stereotypical mrbeast drama thumbnail (y'know the one with the gray background and white/red text saying "it's over") except mrbeast's face is replaced with the planet

Listened to John Michael godier last night and my first thought was "kyplanet893 is gonna lose his fucking mind over this"

I love channels that corner the “actual information and not AI slop” market

Life on other planets is almost like Half Life 3. There's a lot of hype around both, and but I can't get my hopes up until something conclusive and undeniable comes along

They’re trying to say we found life on a literal gas dwarf?! How is that possible?! I find it more possible that a habitable moon of a gas dwarf would be where to find any alien lifeforms.

I've seen multiple interviews from the scientists themselves and I think they communicated themselves very well, I can understand the potential misrepresentation from the media but I think the scientists tempered expectations very well. Either way if they can prove evidence of biomarkers, something interesting is happening.

@Brick_Wall_quote_Entertainment
Called BS as well when I saw the "OMG LIFE ON A THE K2 TEEHEE CLICK ME" articles as well.

Anton barely even had to joke. The more news worthy thing is how irresponsible it is

Kyplanet
I’ll make a video about it soon but this k2-18 b situation is actually bad
no, life wasn’t found. This is actually extremely irresponsible and not at all what was actually discovered
i thought it was just bad science communication but no this is a complete mess
