Mini rant that has nothing to do with anything but I'm still very passionate about lol ✨

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you find a crochet item on Temu, or Amazon, or Shein, or any other fast fashion store, I BEG of you. DO NOT BUY IT. If you thought regular fast fashion was unethical, crochet is a WHOLE other level of evil.
Crochet literally CANNOT be replicated by a machine and mass produced the same way knitting can. Which means for every cute cardigan, every amigurumi plush, every hat, some REAL PERSON had to spend SEVERAL. HOURS. just to make that. Carefully stitching in every single detail for most likely days, with how long crochet takes.

Yes, it's more expensive, but buying ethically from a small business or making it yourself will ALWAYS be a better option.

I'm not saying if you've already bought crochet you're a terrible person, I just really want to bring awareness to this because as a crocheter myself, it really really rubs me the wrong way every time I see one of those crochet Amazon cardigans.
Like I swear those shouldn't be legal, anyways, thanks for listening, have a great rest of ur day 💔✌️

@bobcatthebobcat

Exactly, plus the low prices gives people unrealistic expectations when buying crochet items from actual authentic sources

REAL. The fast fashion industry BARELY pays their employees and take advantage of them- often they’re out in dangerous working conditions with long hours- and incredibly low wages. This is even more difficult for crochet items because the employees will have to work on it for HOURS STRAIGHT, which can cause serious carpool tunnel or hand injuries. The fast fashion industry also creates A TON of waste :(( overall- just try not to buy from fast fashion businesses like shien, temu, aliexpress, amazon, etc if you can help it. Thrifting is always a great alternative! You can get awesome clothes for cheap, and help save the environment at the same time :3
