I think modern aswell. If youre gonna be comparing ezio who had 3 games to characters like Arno, connor, bayek who had 1 then you should include the modern protagonists who had multiple games

I want both. Shorter modern-day sections like AC3 would help to break up the main story better than bland side missions. If they don't want to do that give me side games to fill in the timeline.

Idk why the modern characters should be included. Even the best Desmond scenes were largely nothing more than an obsticle, in comparison to the main characters.

Personally i think the whole modern day thing was a boring distraction. Credit where credit is due, in AC2 they did it right, but In all other games i found it boring and i counted the seconds untill i was back in the past.

As horrendous as Layla was, I definitely think at least Desmond should be added. He was as much a protagonist as the historical characters.

I think people glance over the fact that the modern day gameplay bonded the stories together. If we only use historical characters we lose the meaning of the creed working as a group for a larger goal.

I’d really like it if you included modern day, Desmond was like my favorite video game character as a kid. It’s gotten closer to some of the past protagonists as I got older but I used to leave the animus just to check to see if they added anymore modern dialogue after any little part of the past storyline. I thought the modern day was so conceptually cool. I think it’d also just be interesting to see where they would land, like I’d even like Haytham to be included since he had a pretty significant segment. Like it felt like you had a DLC worth of time as Haytham that for me I’d think he’d be fair to consider a protagonist with getting to play through a pretty complete mini story from him before it switches to Ratonhnhaké:ton.

I am currently writing the script for a new video. Ranking the protagonists of Assassin's Creed. I am unsure whether to add the modern-day protagonists (Such as Desmond, Layla, and the unamed first person character) to this list or just leave it as the historical characters only?
