Slynk I can’t tell you how much your Ableton videos progressed my quality and quantity of music making, everything from sound design to crest process. 2020 pumped a huge break on my production as well. Even though I was out of work for two and a half months, my girlfriends work was considered essential, so I ended up being at home with our then 5 year old and being her homeschool teacher and care giver. While I may have been home constantly, I suddenly had very little time or really mental space for music. Fast forward to today, so much has changed. I now I have another child, a new job in a completely divergent field, and we bought our first home. I now have office space for my studio set up again, and I have the itch to get back into music writing and Ableton tinkering. I came to your channel to see what content I’ve missed in the last few years, and to my dismay, it seems like not very much. I 100% understand your reasoning, and am not arrogant enough to demand anything, but your tutorials were creative sparks and launch pads for so much of my creativity. I was hoping to come here for some, “juice,” so to speak. I will be turning channel notifications on in hope that very soon there will be so new tutorials to get the juices flowing!

No need to apologize for not uploading much content. When it comes it comes. Maybe it's a cool idea to do a tutorial on every native Ableton effect/instrument. As reference guide that can be accessed. Dive deep in every one of them and make a playlist?

Slynk
So when is your next tutorial video coming out Slynk? I know, it's been a WHILE.
I wanted to do a little post and let you know what's been going on with me. Last summer here in Canada, things basically opened up again, the pandemic restrictions were lifted and I was getting booked to DJ at a lot of festivals and clubs around Canada. So that's the main reason for the lack of videos. But now things have calmed down again with gigs and I'm back in the studio writing music.
During the pandemic years, I didn't really write much music. It was stressful trying to figure out new ways to earn a living and without any upcoming shows or any light at the end of the tunnel, writing music wasn't really something I could prioritize. I ended up doing lots of sponsored Youtube videos to make enough money to get by, and I kinda got burnt out. I don't really enjoy being an "influencer" and I much preferred making videos to share cool Ableton tricks and techniques, rather than to make rent.
I have really been enjoying teaching 1-on-1 lessons for all of my students. They continue to be a source of inspiration for me. And I've been working really really hard these past 5-6 months on a bunch of new music which I can't wait to share with you all.
So moving forward into next year, expect to see videos of my new music as it comes out, but also the occasional tutorial video when I have the time and the right technique to share. I would like to post some videos about the process behind creating some of my new music and the techniques involved, but I'm not sure.
Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in. And if you have something you'd love for me to make a video about, let me know in the comments.
Thanks for subscribing and watching my channel. I appreciate you all and thanks for being patient!
Here's a recent picture of me to prove that I'm not dead LOL!
