Self care can be damn hard when you care so much about others. So I'm not gonna bs you and say "Who cares! You do you!" Because the truth is I don't feel like that. I HATE letting people down. Like in the pit of my stomach it makes me feel terrible. And I don't actually want to start seeing “caring about people” as a negative thing. So i just own that yes, yes i care if i let someone down. But... (yes of course theres a but) over the years with so many health issues I have had, I can truly and honestly say that there is nothing... and i literally mean NOTHING more important than your mental and physical health. Like nothing. Hit me with something!
My relationship with Tom? Well I learnt the hard way with my severe gut issue that it’s not much of a thriving relationship when you can barely stand up from the pain.
My business? Well, when I had brain fog and became extremely forgetful it was no longer a business I can really be excited about and focus on.
My family and friends? When you can barely muster the energy to text them because you're so malnutrition it's hard to hang out and be there for them if they need you.
So I come back to this quote. While yes, yes its bloody heartbreaking, if taking care of yourself means letting someone down. But, heartbreaking or not, let. Them. Down.
