"first act - an attempt, and a failure, to forgive the self for situations that were never their fault."
This is such a fantastic, unfiltered album. I perceive it as an album that really fleshes out what can really fuck us up in our life, and in the head.
We all go through bad moments in our day, there's no need to explain yourself, we all get them...but we can tend to let it consume us.
Sometimes we're all too tired and drained to care or resolve about certain problems in our life or the environments that we pass through everyday. Everything becomes white noise, maybe you even feel your body go on autopilot sometimes, as if you're watching yourself on a screen. Your mind is blank and you continue through your day.
Maybe you've surrounded yourself with toxic people, or even good people that you don't realize are making the relationship toxic, or maybe you do, but ignore it. You need to separate yourself from these friends of yours if they're causing more harm than good. My mom used to tell me that, "there's people who add to your life, and then there's people who subtract." You need to stay with the people that add to your life, not subtract. If they're subtracting from your life and theyre a good person and you value them, it's worth trying to talk through with them whatever it is they're subtracting from you. Maybe from time to time they really stress you out, take personal time away from you, maybe some sort of pressure, ect. Talk though it, and establish boundaries. They don't even have to be a bad or good person when it comes to this...it could be things that they surround themselves with or are surrounded by. Maybe other bad people, maybe family issues, mental issues, ect.
Maybe everything going on is all leading to you living around others with a forced facade, always saying "I'm fine," maybe even with a blank smile on your face. You have your momentary highs with your unfathomable lows, a seemingly never ending cycle, leaving you constantly confused, depressed, or even frustrated, for valid reasons you can't wrap your head around to understand at the time.
Or, maybe you're on the other end, you see a loved one of yours going through something. You've seen them struggle, whether they change their habbits and they dont seem like the same person anymore, or whether theymay have attempted or not and you stopped them. You can't stand to see them this way anymore, slowly killing their world, themself, that you had once knew. You're determined to help, and have no plans to stop because you care about them, you love then. They want to give in, they cant help but desire to, but they've heard your reasoning, depending on the person, they're forced to understand even if they don't want to and want to just give up. You remind them that you're going to help in any, and every way that you can, yet they may still not listen.
All the pain will come to pass; after all, it wouldn't be called pain if it was constant, every day, every second factor in all of us humans, like the emotions that we all experience. It's who everyone is, everyone experiences emotions, and as emotions pass from one to the next, so does pain, whether it gets better or it doesn't.
To the specific audience who's been reading this, you know who you are, and I hope things improve for you. All you can do is hope, even when the last glimmer of it escapes your grasp.
There's another saying my mom has always told me...and I've always stuck with it. "It doesn't matter if it's today, tomorrow, next week, or next year, anything can happen. It could be tragic, it could be a miracle, it could be anything. We just need to take things day by day. You wake up with a fresh start, a fresh mind everyday, after all."
I haven't heard something this impactful in while. Thanks dok 🫂💜
