Yo, let’s talk about this. Did TASM 2 get too much hate? 🕷️

@AaronPaulIbarrola

I was irritated at people who were like, "Not my Spiderman," then years later, it was like, "OMG, they brought him back! 😭" I remember even if you don't. Lo

Marvel Studios proved it wasn't Andrew Garfield that was the problem it was Sony and the movies he was in

The “yes it deserves more love”, that’s how I feel about every movie that has gotten hate in existence.

@Madseason6x9

Gwen Stacys death and the scene at the end of the little boy standing in for Spider-Man against the Rhino was the best scenes. Andrew deserved a 3rd movie.

The scene where he saves the boy from Bullies and fixes his Science Project before walking him home is a better encapsulation of the character than the entire MCU Home trilogy combined.

Electro Theme lives in my head rent free tbh the entire score does.. Andrew and Emma were perfect I’ll always love this movie

I did prefer the Toby Maguire spiderman but this version without comparison, was actually good

I think the biggest failing of those movies were its villains. They just paled in comparison to willem dafoe’s goblin, and doc oc. Andrew Garfield was great though

@merlinho0t

I think it’s pretty good, but the obvious stand out scene that I thought was EXCEPTIONALLY well done was Gwen’s death. It was a very iconic/well known scene in the comics and I think the film did it justice.

The one time he didn't save the girl... And I loved the movie for that. life isn't always a happy ending no matter how many you save

2014 was well-met with movies, even if a little Controversy had to be done! But while we cannot go back to fix these pieces of Art, we can still show Appreciation for such Blockbusters 10 Years later.

"TASM 2 had too many villains" TASM 2: Focuses on two major villains and features a third at the very end scene SM3: Two major villains and a third antagonist for much of the film Homecoming: Has three prominent villains throughout the entire movie Far From Home: One real villain who is accompanied by effectively four other villains and a ton of drones No Way Home: Sinister Six from Wish Infinity War/Endgame:

Plot was a bit of a mess, but the Peter + Gwen chemistry and Andrew/Emma just being vastly superior actors than the film deserves carries a TON of weight. Fight scenes and all that are good and all, but it’s really only saved from drowning by two excellent actors honestly setting the benchmark for a relationship in the Spider-Man universe. It’s really hard for anyone to come close to these two.

I'm fucking sick of people trying to rewrite history and claim this as some misunderstood masterpiece. It's not. It's a complete and utter mess. It has way too many plot points, and still a lot was left on the cutting room floor. When people were excited to see Garfield back for NWH, this wasn't them being hypocritical, it was an acknowledgement that he was not the problem with the ASM films. Spider-Man is a character that has been adapted to film many times, and we are fortunate as fans of the character that so many of them are good. But some of them fall short of the mark and this is easily the worst live action Spidey film they've made.

Honestly, I think they were onto something there with Garfield’s Spider-Man. Kinda wish they gave them time to develop the story. I grew up with Raimi/Maguire Spider-Man, and I was excited when TASM 1 & 2 came out.
