For any of you old enough, remember when the original Star Fox on the SNES first came out? Looking back, yeah, in this day and age, the 3D graphics look absolutely laughable compared to modern space rail shooters such as Everspace 2 for the PS5, released in 2023. It's no contest about which game looks cooler. You can't compare tens of millions of polygons opposed to just hundreds (yes, that's all!)
However, keep in mind, although it appears basic, 30 years prior in 1993, for 16-bit standards, the Super FX chip did manage to blow everyone's minds when Star Fox 1 was new. It was like an arcade game at home. When you compare to other console games made that year, such as NBA Jam on the Sega Genesis (the third image), it makes you understand that certain classic titles truly have history behind them. It's NOT just about gameplay!
