I love that they're trying to lessen harm to all involved during pursuits. At the same time...That thing is badass.

It’s freaking cool. I also watched a cop chase recently where one cop had a gps dart that he shot into the car so they could track it. they were able to back off the car to keep the road safer and go find the car later when it parked

Honestly, every city needs at least one of these, theyre amazing and from what ive seen, theyre by FAR the most effective tool for this purpose... those gps things like never attach, spike strips have a lot of user error it seems... from a lay person, this seems like THE solution to high speed chases

Wasn’t there a high speed pursuit or something and some cops believed they had the right vehicle, used the grapple, and messed up the innocent lady’s car, realized at some point they had the wrong vehicle and still had guns pulled on the lady and her young daughter’s face? I heard the city had still NOT pay for the damages for that incident and stopped paying for a rental for this poor woman a long time ago.

They developed it here in Phoenix so I often see them around with the front guard/yellow straps. Very Batman. Idk why more pd's don't use them, tho I'm not sure of the cost. Can't forget to put them in your car like stop sticks, and safer than a pit/stop sticks to say the least.
