I marked/chose the POP genre, but honestly I never stopped to think/analyze/review it more deeply. I'll try to give you an answer on this subject if it will help you make more playlists, so here we go: IMPORTANT DETAIL: My answer will be based on my musical taste in general, not just K-Pop (this will help me analyze/organize). 1) I listen to a lot of mainstream music, which obviously a lot (if not most) is of the POP genre. And I listen more to Pop Divas (from Y2K to 2020s), such as: from Britney Spears to Sabrina Carpenter (of course there are other Pop Divas). 2) Since 2023 I discovered that I also like Jazz music, more specifically from the 30s to the 60s (mainly from Old Hollywood movies, but also the music that was played on the radio every day at that time). I listen to more Jazz music (whether from a male or female point of view) that talks about love, romantic relationships and breakups, but sometimes I hear/discover music that talks about other subjects. 3) In 2021 I discovered that I like CityPop music (this was because of a B-Side from TWICE's album at the time of their comeback that year). I'm still trying to find music of this genre (both K-Pop and in general) to listen to in my daily life (it's hard lol) and I know you're going to tell me to listen to CityPop from Japan (because from what I know/from what the internet says, Japanese CityPops - both old and new - are the most well-known/famous/popular, but I don't know where to start looking lol). 4) In the year 2024 I discovered that I like Vogue/Groove/Club music, to feel like I'm at an event/party/fashion show. I imagine Victoria's Secret Angels models, fashion runways in Paris/Milan/London/New York, fashion magazine covers (like VOGUE magazine) and dance floors in clubs (more specifically dance battles, whether it's a group against another group or one person against another person). 5) In 2023 I like music that represents/signifies/symbolizes the "It Girl/Girl Power/Empowered Women/Girl's Girl". I feel good when I listen to music created/written/produced/composed BY female singers/Girl Groups that speaks/represents well (both the positive side: female empowerment, and the negative side: Femme Rage) what it's like to be a girl/woman in reality (from centuries ago to today) and that is made/dedicated to girls/women of all ages (especially the younger generations). 6) In 2019 I discovered that I like listening to music that makes me feel like a cunt/sexy/hoe and talks about making love/sex/fucking with the significant other (and it was because of some K-Pop songs of this type that caught my attention lol). I don't know why I like listening to this, because maybe I was 15-16 years old and my hormones were at their peak and that's why this type of music caught my attention and has stayed with me until now lol. 7) Only now at the beginning of 2025 I realized and discovered that I like orchestral music (more specifically and mainly ballet performances in theaters/auditoriums/stages/concert halls). For the last 5 years (2020-2025) I would occasionally/sometimes/go back and forth listening to old orchestral music (imagine my surprise when I found out that these songs last MUCH LONGER than 3 minutes, like there are some songs that last 7 MINUTES and other songs EVEN LONGER than that) and this caught/gained my attention until I finally realized/admitted that I like this type of music, so when I listen to a song (both K-Pop and in general) and realize that it has/uses a sample of an orchestral song I get very happy/excited (my ballet performances that have an orchestra are: Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty and Anastasia). 8) Lastly, I like to listen to music that represents these Aesthetics: Old Money, Dark Feminine, Mermaidcore/Sirencore, Royalcore, Cottagecore, Witchcore, Tomboy, Dark Academia, Light Academia, Barbiecore, Fairycore, Glam Girl, Vintage, Cyberpunk, Euphoria (yes, from the HBO series), Dark Romance, Divine Feminine and Femme Fatale. Well, that's it, I hope I explained it to you properly and managed to help you and give you some playlist ideas!
