We’re at Stage 5 of Malnutrition in Gaza. This is irreversible. I can’t believe I’m writing these words. I come to you shyly, asking for your help, even if it's just a little. If you can't help, sharing this makes a huge difference for my family. We are going through the worst days of the genocide that has affected every part of us. Here in Gaza, even withdrawing cash from the bank comes at a heavy cost. When you try to withdraw $100, they deduct nearly 45%. This means that for every $100, you receive only about $55 to $65. It's a disaster no one is highlighting. I hope that one day I will be able to repay this kindness, and be there for you as you are for me. You are my second family. I love you all! ❤

And some people will still use the “both sides are wrong” argument. Only one side is causing a man made famine and it’s not Palestine, Sudan, the Congo or Haiti.

Ahmed's full message, as shown in the images above: "My name is Ahmed and I'm from Gaza. I write these words while fighting hunger not to ask for anything for myself, but to let the world hear the cry of a people being slowly exterminated, starved on purpose, and denied even the most basic means of survival. For over four months now, since the brutal assault on Gaza resumed, Israel has escalated a deliberate and systematic policy of starvation against us. Food, medicine, and clean water are blocked. Yet Israel tells the world it is allowing "humanitarian aid" into Gaza. The truth is very different. At best, only 10 trucks enter every two days. Sometimes, none at all. But our real daily need is at least 600 trucks of food and essential supplies. Imagine the difference. And even when aid is allowed in, it is often dumped in dangerous, exposed areas near the border, where desperate people risk their lives to reach it. Almost every time, it ends in a new massacre of the hungry. The goal is clear: to break our will by starving us. Imagine a family of six needing at least $100 every day just to get enough food to stop the hunger. People eat small amounts of vegetables or beans if they're lucky. Each person gets two pieces of bread a day. Unemployment is over 95%. There are no jobs, no income, no savings. Homes, businesses, and everything people owned are destroyed. The prices are insane. 1 Kilogram of tomatoes or cucumbers costs $30. 1 kilogram of flour costs $65, enough to make just 12 pieces of bread. On top of that, there are over 40% in extra fees. And yes, we drink more water than our bodies need not out of thirst, but to trick our stomachs into feeling full. We go to bed every night with empty stomachs, with nothing but patience and pain to carry us through. As for the so-called "American aid drop point," we in Gaza now call it the Death Trap. Every time people gather there in hunger, more lives are lost--killed by Israeli forces, often working alongside US military presence. How can we explain to our children that this hunger is not our choice? That we didn't fail them? That the hunger gnawing at their bodies is not fate, but a weapon being used against them? We are a people who love life--just like you do. But today, we are fighting death every moment: through hunger, injustice, and isolation."

There are no words to cover the deep sadness I feel anytime I hear news of Palestinian families barely scraping by every day. And what’s worse is those who after almost 2 years are still in denial that this is unequivocally a genocide.

I won't dare say, "How can people not cry hearing these stories?" because I understand that in these times it is easy to run out of tears, but another part of my heart rips when I read or hear more of the atrocities from those brave enough to speak with dry lips. I could never imagine living through something like this while being told it isn't EXACTLY what it is

Thank you for sharing Ahmed's message about this horrific famine caused by the Israel-US backed aid blockade. Genocide will never be excusable, no one should be okay with this inhumane blockade that's causing every Palestinian in Gaza to starve. Free Palestine! 🇵🇸 Free Sudan!

Thank you so much for using your voice and reach to help. You reminded me of Mr. Rogers when he talked about how his mother told him to look for the helpers in times of catastrophe. There will always be helpers. You are one of the helpers. People like you are why I have hope.

Israel is illegally blocking food, water, and humanitarian aid from the people of Palestine, which has created a man-made famine for Palestinians. Ahmed, who lives in Palestine, sent me the following message. You can read more of what he said in the pictures below. I'll add image descriptions in a pinned comment.

There's striking similarities happening in Sudan and South Sudan. In terms of the latter, more than half the population, over 7 million people, are facing acute food insecurity. Famine has been declared in Sudan's Darfur. Healthcare facilities in both countries are being destroyed, alongside civilian infrastructure. Millions of people are being forcibly displaced. They're driven from their homes, lives, and loved ones.
