Day 5 of reviewing every episode of BFDI until Silksong comes out: S1 E5 "Bridge Crossing" There's a 0.633% chance that Silksong will come out tomorrow, and growing!
Thoughts—
Overall, this episode was pretty mid. I don't have a lot to comment on about it, so I'll make it brief.
Cake at Stake: Woody was, unfortunately, eliminated. Too bad, because he was—and steadfastly is—my favorite character (just behind Snowball). We also see Pin's hubris slowly catching up to him. It sounds like the creators really wanted you to hate him for whatever reason, so there's that.
Challenge: The challenge is to cross a bridge. Honestly? It's not that bad. But the way they went about it wasn't all that great. They literally just had both bridges collapse because Snowball got mad. I appreciate the build-up from episode 1b, but they could have done it way better. But if I'm being completely honest here, I think they would have overhauled the script if they made the episode today. Either way, it's gonna lose points for just being a time-waster, as it leads up to yet another tie.
Losers: Like I said, it was a tie. But, due to the tie-breaking challenge, the Squishy Cherries lost. I'm already getting tired of this catch-all setup, but I don't think it's used in too many episodes after this.
Overall: I think this episode was okay at best. I like how they acknowledged Needle's cake at the start, and it was cool to see the wind go haywire due to the cake. But I'm gonna give it a D-tier rating. Same shtick as last episode, done worse.
