@HelloIAmAnExist

Depends if the compliment is something I actually think I deserve to get conplimented on

@314nerd

Do I want compliments? Yes. Do I know how to respond to them? No. Does this make me wish people wouldn't compliment me? Sometimes. Do I get upset when I don't get compliments because I'm dependent on others' validation? Absolutely.

I recently had an old lady tell me she has been watching me for years, and loves how I interact with others. A month later, I found her name in the obituary, and saw she passed away the same day she told me that. I will continue to be myself to others. -INFJ here as well…

@TheQuietObserver_real

As an INFJ, If it is sincere, I will say a thank you and analyse what they have said and understand their real intentions far after the conversation is over

INTJ here. Yes, I like them if someone seems to be sincere and not trying to get something out of me. I always respond to a compliment with a thank you no matter how I feel about the compliment. Any other response seems to make things more awkward.

I like them, but sometimes I question their sincerity.

@grimreaper7854

Yes, and I feel embarrassed by them. 1 & 2.

@cultreader9751

I like receiving compliments, but not for the intended reason. What people compliment you on gives insight to their values.

@Shmoo22420

No. It's just awkward even though I appreciate the kindness. The best trick I learned was to just say "thank you" when someone compliments me. It ends the whole thing quickly.

My dog wags his tail when I come home. That is the biggest compliment one can get in life. Just unconditional adoration from a scruffy black mixed breed called Monty.

@StephanieJeanne

Sure, if it's sincere. My INFJ Spidey sense can usually tell.🔮

@malloryo.4782

There's needs to be an option for "I like honest compliments but dunno how to respond to them so I kinda wish people wouldn't..."

@cheezywunder9376

I get embarrassed when complimented, and start laughing when insulted.

@mflow6485

Like most human interaction, compliments require too much energy for this INFJ to respond. I've learned to compliment and take delight in myself. Just saves all of that awkwardness.

@Traveller281

This needs a "yes, but I get embarrassed and flustered and don't know how to deal with it" option.

If I receive compliments for something I put a lot of effort into, I feel satisfied. If I receive compliments out of the blue or for things I don't think are true, I think the person is either insincere, manipulative, or simply in error. This happens not because I'm humble (I don't think I have a single humble bone in my body), but because I think I know my strengths and my defects quite well.

@DarthShadie

Absolutely. (INFP) Especially nowadays. They always make me smile.😊

It's just compliments do make me feel good but I never know how to react or what to say when someone compliments me!
