I will always maintain that in the street racing genre, nothing beats nfsmw 2005. It’s the best representation of the genre to date.

I played all three but Most Wanted was like the culmination of all of them that checked all the boxes. Absolute masterpiece that I still play today.

Underground 1 climbed while the others lived with glamour. That menu was the definition of tight.

Underground 2 was peak. That customization mixed with the different events. I'm also in the minority that thought cops slamming you around wasn't as fun.

Honestly, Underground 1 UG2 annoyed me to hell and back with forcing you to drive to every Shop, all the customization things being spread over different locations, it was just stupid design. MW I have no nostalgia for, played it for the first time maybe 2 or 3 years ago, didn´t like it and don´t get why it has this insane reputation. Most annoying thing I can point at are the cops, you loose them either within 10 Seconds when you actually want to get a chase going or you are locked in a chase for 10+ Minutes when you want to end the chase (or this was skill issue on my end, entirely possible). Plus, at this point I´m simply done with Open World Racers in general.

Nfsu best menu racer. Nfsu2 best open world racer. Most wanted is good mix of both, since you could join races from menu or drive in the world to start them.

Nfs Mw '05 for sure, 💯. Tons of goodies with that piece. Memorable soundtrack, plot/story (even if the live action scenes are corny nowadays), gameplay, and cars. Even the cover art is iconic. I like all 3 games, but I have a strong preference for nfs mw '05
