Once I saw the world for what it was, I changed my perspective on what this life is really for. My values are not the same as they once were. Everything seems so superficial. Dating, holidays, television, small talk…it all seems trivial, when so much is going on across our planet that is much bigger than any individual.
Land, financial freedom, and knowledge are the greatest gifts I can give or receive. Gratefulness and appreciation need to be shown daily, not just once a year. And gathering to spend time with family should not come with the pressures of financial obligation.
Holidays are not the same anymore for a number of reasons; but we have the opportunity to create new traditions that are more meaningful to the collective than the individual, and maybe our communities will become stronger because of it.
Joy can’t be wrapped in colorful paper; it can only be carried in your soul and passed on through your spirit.
