I adopted my kitty from a cat cafe. I was there for a good while and wasn't sure I connected with any kitty. Just as I was leaving and speaking to the people out she comes from under an old recliner they had for them and starts rubbing up against my legs. I was like who's this?? I just spent a few minutes with her as they were closing already but when I got home to think about it I knew she was the one. Went back the next day to adopt her. Had her for almost 8 years this October. She will be 9 tomorrow 🎉

Hiya Jackson and company! I had to say goodbye to my friend of a decade 2 weeks ago. I adopted Ghost as an adult. He was quite senior and we had a wonderful time together. I just adopted a new little guy. I usually don't enjoy kittens. Wee balls of evil demonic creatures. However I feel like I won the lottery with my new Critter. His mom is feral and is tnr, father unknown. His whole litter is up for adoption in Baltimore co MD. Thank you for all the good teaching and advice.

I have a way harder time befriending café cats than home cats (or even strays). I think I behave the same, blinking, let them sniff and mark... I had owners wonder how their cat became a purring loaf on my lap within 15 minutes, but café cats idk man... maybe it's just the "only 1 person giving the cat attention" in private settings or too many people unable to read the cats in a café and the cats being cautious. I found they are places to be around cats, not to be with cats. that's just a bonus.

Jackson how do I begin to deal with the grief I feel after the death of my cat Pennie? I had her all 17 years of her life. I feel like a ship without its mooring. She was my constant companion.

🐾 New video drops tomorrow! 🐾
Tomorrow, I’m dropping a brand new video where I walk into a cat café COLD—no introductions, no warm-ups—and show you exactly how I connect with a whole room of unfamiliar cats.
I’ll be breaking down my step-by-step process for building trust, reading body language, and creating meaningful connections—tools anyone can use, whether you’re in a shelter, a cat café, or your own home.
