Great Measures

I need help with Blind Guardian.
Comment below which song we should do. Judson has never heard them before.

BEFORE YOU COMMENT:
If someone has already posted the song you want, give it a like.

Thank you,

@tropiq

Definitely Mirror Mirror, it was my introduction to them, super fun track, honestly there are better 'showcase' tracks but this is still my favorite

Bard song live.

Everyone's gonna go on about Nightfall in Middle Earth... and, yeah, it's great and all, but it's a singularly narrow perspective on their music and lyrical themes as it applies to their entire catalogue. So, maybe something off Imaginations From the Other Side? Every track on it is killer but the title track was my very first intro to the band.

Eldar - great vocal + piano. Bard's Song - hymn of the centuries) Mirror Mirror - as a classic track of them

Somewhere Far Beyond might be the best showcase song for them. Mirror Mirror and Valhalla are good too, if you do Valhalla the one from Memories of a Time to Come is better than the original on Follow the Blind IMO. The Bard's Song In the Forest is their big hit and it's a great song but it's very different from most of their other stuff so I'd start with something else

Bright Eyes is my suggestion

A great live performance is the double feature of Bard's Song and Valhalla live at Wacken 2016. That performance makes my hair stand on end. Also, I think Judson would particularly like Sacred Worlds.

@-Heavy-

I prefer their older,more thrashing stuff.They lost me somewhere after the 'Imaginations" album. So my suggestion is 'Welcome to dying'!🤘

Valhalla easy

@VZed

It's all great, but I think they're later stuff is more distinct. I usually go with "A Voice in the Dark" for first time listeners, a song I can't get enough of myself.

Bright Eyes great mid tempo song, Wait for an Answer just a great song, And Then There Was Silence super epic symphony song kind of over the top, Nightfall, And The Story Ends. Every reactor seems to do Mirror Mirror or Valhalla.. cool songs but they can do a lot more.

@internalfire11

If you ever go live version BG I would suggest "And then there was silence". Pretty much as epic as it gets. But for the first listen, yeah, Nightfall or Mirror Mirror

@Anthropomorphic

Whichever song you wind up picking, I recommend comparing different versions from different releases. Some of their albums have been "remastered", and those versions actually sound very different - and not just in terms of sound quality, to be clear. Some of them sound like different arrangements.
