As Doug Geivett explained, this creates a message to the church, and especially to people who feel spiritually attacked, that they need someone with special skills and knowledge to be free. It gives the impression that only certain people are equipped to help, and that kind of expectation is deeply concerning.

What’s more, some of these same practitioners teach that all Christians have equal authority in Christ—that no one has a special gift or elevated spiritual position when it comes to casting out demons. If that’s true, why do we need specialists? And if all believers are protected by the blood of Christ, why do deliverance ministers teach that they can be demonized?

These contradictions raise legitimate questions that need to be addressed. Want to listen the whole conversation? Follow the link: https://youtu.be/_RzL-Vhk5_o
