After years in the making , this all now feels like it’s happening very quickly ….
I’m thrilled to say that “ONE FOR THE ROAD” is now available on all streaming platforms !
It’s a bunch of songs that I wrote for the musical theatre adaptation of “the unlikely pilgrimage of harold fry” which opens at Theatre Royal Haymarket in January .
You can pre order the cd and vinyl (released in Jan) and also book your tickets for the London musical from here - linktr.ee/passengermusic .
Here also is a video for one of my favourite songs from the record …..
“Walk upon the water” is a big , bold , uplifting , “you can do it” kind of song that inspires Harold to head out on his pilgrimage .
It is also fundamentally a gospel song … So it was my absolute pleasure to collaborate with the phenomenal @thekingdomchoir9585 - they’ve raised it to a whole new level and it was an experience that I will never ever forget . a true joy .
Massive thanks to them and to all involved with filming the video (full list of credits in the video description) !
I really do hope that you all enjoy the album . I recommend reading the book before / after / during listening to it …. Not essential but will help to make sense of the lyrics … plus its a wonderful and deeply moving read by Rachel Joyce .
Please also feel free to share this post and spread the word . As ever there is no record label / big machine behind this - just me and my little team … so word of mouth is our greatest asset .
Finally I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this album to life -
To the brilliant creative team who guided me through writing a musical — Katie Rudd, Nick Sidi, Rachel Joyce, and Peter Darling—thank you so much for your wisdom and support.
To Chris Harper, Tom O’Connell, and everyone at CHP for being so open and accommodating—it’s been a real pleasure.
Thank you to Chris Vallejo, Jeremy Holland-Smith, and Alex Ferguson for helping me develop the songs and arrangements, and for capturing it all so beautifully.
To The Kingdom Choir and Jack Wolfe for collaborating so willingly and brilliantly.
To Karl, John, Benny, Dave, Leo, and string quartet Tom , Tina , Rachel and James for lending your immense talents and time.
To Nat and Drew Burns for creating such perfect visuals and artwork.
To my partner Rebekah—thank you for your love, patience, and encouragement.
To my manager Dan—a rock and ever-present.
I feel so unbelievably lucky to have had the chance to work with all of these amazing people .
