It's so accurate that they even replicated the performance issues of the original

For my first time playing - I’m fw it. Your 6 hour MGS video was my gateway drug

"i like it because i like the original" is genuinely accurate here, it's the same game with a fresh coat of paint and some new Quality of Life changes

The more intuitive controls definitely make it the most accessible game from a gameplay perspective too. Hope the rest of the series gets the treatment as it has been way easier to convince people to play delta than the original.

I just don't what how who to keep MGS around. Like the obvious play is to remake one and 2 and stall time so they can also remake 4 and 5 and make a TV. I quite frankly don't think they have the balls to make a proper sixth game. Like which Game to you expand on, 5?

I really enjoyed Delta overall. It fixed what few problems I had with the original without making any new problems. I do think it was overpriced, though, $50 would be where I would place it.

I bought the MGS Master Collection a while back and have been gradually making my way through the games. I think the look of the PS2-era games still holds up very well, so if the only real upgrade is graphical, then I'm probably not buying the remake in the foreseeable future

im wanting to get it, but im waiting cause I agree, im not sure 70 dollars for a few new bells and whistles is worth it. the oblivion remake had a few new bells and whistles, but kept the price point at 50. point being, yeah for 70 im not sure. im definitely am gonna get it, but just not yet. besides, im still waiting for the volume 2 collection so I can finally play mgs4 on modern hardware, id rather get that than a mgs3 remake

I loved playing mgs3 when I bought the master collection, but that was like last summer, so I'm not too keen on spending full price just to experience the same game again. I'd probably buy it on a good enough sale, or if I could find a used copy for a good price

“Current Activity: Torture” It’s things like this that make me realize that I shouldn’t call AskYourUncle “unc”

As a super fan of MGS specifically MGS3 I'd say wait for a sale. It is good though.

One of my friends pirated it, he says it was good enough that he might buy it legitimately in the future

AskYourUncle
Got around to playing Metal Gear Solid Delta:
The devs weren't lying when they said it was a faithful remake of Snake Eater. It's VERY loyal to the source material... To the point where it felt like I was just kinda playing MGS3 again.
The gameplay is about 85% the same with some new bells and whistles added, like modern aiming and crouch walking. The cutscenes are shot-for-shot with the original, too. By the time the credits rolled, I wasn't thinking anything other than "That sure was Metal Gear Solid 3".
That's not a bad thing, because MGS3 is a great game, so this is too. But I dunno, is it worth $70 to have the same exact experience you've had before?
At the very least, I hope this opens up an avenue for new fans to come in through the most accessible game in the series, plot-wise. (Even though that avenue already exists with the Master Collection for cheaper)
Who the hell knows where Konami is gonna go with the series from here. Maybe they'll go the route of Resident Evil and start a remake spree. Maybe they'll say "fuck it" and make MGS6, starring AskYourUncle as Slithery Little Snake. Or maybe they'll go back to pretending the series doesn't exist outside of casinos. All I know is nothing.
TL;DR: I like it!!! Because I like MGS3!!!
