People don't credit Gore Verbinski enough for the original POTC trilogy. Johnny may be the star, but without GV's vision he became a caricature of himself in the 4th and 5th movie. The world, lore, writing all took massive dips. So no, I don't think just bringing Johnny back will give us another POTC as good as the original trilogy and certainly not as good as CotBP.
