Metroid. The feeling of gaining power and becoming a terrible force of raw destruction just can't be beat

In terms of NES games, Kirby takes the cake (you don’t want to take Kirby’s cake)

Metroid is impressively complex and cool, however kirby is so ez to jump into on any given day whether I need to be in a certain mood to get into metroid

Kirby, but because Metroid was so tedious. I remember the feeling of exploring deep into the planet as a little kid alone at night, trying to stay alive, all black backgrounds with the eerie music droning on. It was a magical thing.

I grew up on kirby's adventure. Didn't have an NES. I'm gen z. BUT, my parents got the digital version on the WII. Gotta say, it's a GOAT of a game

Kirby's Adventure was one of the first games I've ever played, and it's still one of the best NES games, it still holds up to this day (except for all the performance issues, but aside from that, it's a great game)

I’d have to say Kirby. They’re two very different games with different goals- both are great, but I think my interest in Metroid is to see where the series began (like, more of a historical curiosity). Kirby holds up extremely well today on its own. Then again, maybe I’m being subliminally influenced by the cloth background..!!

NES gfx wise Kirby but the adventure i lean to metriod even today i sometimes play metroid Dread i frickin hate those RE:3 Nemesis robots. Also, Karma why not try challenge runs like RE:3 knife only or so. That would be interesting to watch.

Going with Kirby. It’s the one I grew up playing the most. Plus, I beat it one too many times. Metroid is still good tho😅

I love Metroid. The atmosphere, the music, etc. But man, Hal Laboratory looked at a Famicom/NES in 1993 and said "Wanna watch this box go full ham?" Thus, Kirby's Adventure was born. It's got a unique, cutesy art style and it's a little on the easy side imo, but no one can say it didn't look or play well, even if it wasn't one of your favs.

Kirby. Metroid is held back in a lot of ways. Graphics. Game play. Playability. And you can’t even save in the American release. I reccomend the gba remake in the end.

One of my earliest memories is (expertly of course) playing Kirby's Adventure.

Metroid spawned an amazing franchise and maybe even genre of game but that first one hasn't aged well. I prefer to play the GBA version if possible as it's closest to the original with an added save feature. Kirby on the other hand has arguably aged better. There are some fun puzzly platform platformer sections bit you have the option to fly over them if they're too much for you and still progress in the game. It has a native save feature and the graphics are a significant improvement over Metroid, since Kirby was one of the last games and Metroid was one of the first.

I love metroid but the first game is pretty rough these days unline Kirby's adventure which holds up well. They are both two of my favorite series ever though

Kirby for sure. If this was Super Metroid VS Kirby Superstar, Metroid all the way.

I don’t think Metroid is a bad game, it’s just hard to play nowadays compared to Kirby. Kirby holds up very well even today. Metroid is much better with its remake honestly.
