โLove your enemies.โ Not ignore. Not revenge. Love. Why do you think Jesus asked for something so radical โ and how do we live that out today without becoming doormats? ๐ค๐๐๐ฎโ๐จ๐๐คง

Matthew 5:44 is easy to quote but hard to live. Can you think of a time when you chose love instead of resentment? What changed in you when you did? ๐

Let's be honest โ how do you actually love your enemies? Jesus said, โLove your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.โ Thatโs one of the hardest commands ever. What does that kind of love look like in real life? โค๏ธโ๐ฅ It looks like having to forgive someone who assaults and verbally abuses you or mentally, or physically hurts you , but still praying for their salvation.

When Jesus said โLove your enemies and pray for those who persecute youโ He was teaching us a radical ethic of the Kingdom of God. At its heart, this command is about:
1. Breaking the cycle of revenge (eye for an eye) โ Instead of retaliating or wishing destruction, we entrust judgment to God (Romans 12:19).
2. Showing Godโs compassion and mercy โ We love as He loves, even those who are undeserving (Luke 6:35โ36).
3. Seeking transformation โ Praying for enemies includes asking God to soften their hearts, bring repentance, and align them with His will.
